About Me

I’m Marie Kertes, a dedicated fertility coach, infertility investigator, grateful mother and science lover.

My Fertility Story

After struggling with both infertility and numerous pregnancy issues for years, I have learnt that unconditional emotional support, smart planning and a good understanding of the science involved in fertility are key to having a positive outcome on this sometimes capricious journey. But maybe the most important of all - are the faith and the persistence to keep going, to get yourself up after a disappointment and bravely try again. I truly believe that where there’s a will, there’s also a way. Our own hope and determination can carve the way to our goal, even through the most adverse of conditions.

I had spent almost two years just trying to get pregnant, with no success and I felt frustrated, not knowing what was wrong with me.

Needless to say, I went through a whole range of fertility investigations - endless blood tests and screenings, including genetic testing and hormone level checks, serial ultrasound monitoring, hysterosalpingography (HSG) and other more or less invasive procedures. But none of these tests shone any light on why I was unable to become pregnant and even my doctor seemed to be running out of approaches. I was looking at expensive procedures like IVF as my only option at this point.

“ WHERE THERE'S A WILL, THERE'S A WAY”

That’s when I knew I had to become more involved into my own problem and find solutions for myself, so I started experimenting with different fertility methods and approaches and looking at new, up-to-date medical studies for ideas to put into practice - and that’s how I ended up designing my own personalized fertility plan that really worked. It was quite amazing, the stark difference it made to my fertility. By following this plan and a couple of amazing tricks I had discovered along the way, I would all of a sudden become pregnant almost every month I tried, it became so easy.

Unfortunately though, my struggles still weren’t over since I would lose the pregnancies just as quickly. I had 5 consecutive pregnancy losses, most of them in the first trimester and a heartbreaking one at 19 weeks, after a preterm rupture of membranes (PPROM). It felt difficult to recover, physically and emotionally, but I had to toughen up and try again. I wanted a child so much.

My sixth pregnancy was a success. It was still far from simple to keep, I had to spend 7 months of it on complete bed rest (I would only get up to use the bathroom or take a quick shower), on IV drip medication and had a cerclage placed, all to calm my extremely irritable uterus and stop a threatened miscarriage from happening, then later to prevent a preterm birth. But it was all worth it, I managed to carry to term and my son is now a beautiful and amazing boy that has changed my life in so many unexpected and wonderful ways. My husband was incredible throughout this whole process, he was by my side during uncertainty, disappointments, tough decisions and bed-ridden months and he helped me stay strong and focused. Loving and reliable support can make such a difference to someone’s state of mind. And as I’ve come to learn, your state of mind is an essential aspect whenever you are dealing with infertility issues or pregnancy complications.

I didn’t know fertility coaching was an option available to me back then. I think many women who would need it and to whom it would really make a difference - don’t know about it. A supportive, reliable and experienced friend that’s dedicated to your problems can prove crucial to the way you will handle hardships, setbacks and make the best decisions. Loving support and ingenious, informed solutions can turn a challenging and isolating fertility journey into a positive and fulfilling one.

Why Work With Me?

My approach is maybe a little different than that of many other fertility coaches, in that I am mainly focused on methods and techniques that are scientifically proven or that have empirical evidence to their efficiency. I’m all for what actually works. I don’t want to waste my clients’ precious time and emotional balance and take them on esoteric paths that may not lead anywhere. The human body and its functioning might seem mystical at first glance, but there is a logic to it and when that is discovered, everything becomes easier. In a way, infertility is a call for an insightful investigation into our lives and bodies and the solution is often more simple than expected.

“ THE PATH TO FERTILITY DOESN'T NEED TO BE A LONELY ONE. WE CAN OVERCOME ITS CHALLENGES TOGETHER”

If you choose to work with me, you will have my dedicated support and attention, as well as all the knowledge I have accumulated through extensive study, personal experience and working with a variety of clients dealing with infertility. I have helped women and couples dealing with unexplained infertility, infertility of various causes (PCOS, Luteal Phase Defect, Blocked Fallopian Tubes, etc.), undergoing IVF and IUI or having pregnancy difficulties, such as repeated pregnancy losses, threatened miscarriage or PPROM.

I know how exhausting it can be to sift through so much information, options and opinions out there - and still keep a clear head about the best course of action. I also know how lonely and isolating it can feel to keep trying and failing while others seem to get pregnant almost on a whim. I can help you throughout your journey, make things easier for you and more understandable, so that you always make the best choices for yourself and your family.

Based on your unique particularities, as well as your needs and preferences, I will develop a strategy that suits you and works for you and I will be there every step of the way to support you, whether you need guidance or just a non-judgmental friend to confide in. My ultimate goal is to help you get pregnant as quickly as possible and have a safe and healthy pregnancy.

The path to fertility doesn't need to be a lonely one. We can overcome its challenges together.
